Who we are looking for

We are looking for a talented freelance Social Media Manager & Content Creator who already lives in Zanzibar to manage our Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

You will take ownership of the process from creative ideas and content planning to photography, filming, editing, publishing, and engaging with our audience.

Regular visits to the resort are essential. You will create your own original content on site, capturing the experiences, people, and details that make Tulia special.

We are looking for someone who brings ideas, takes initiative, and delivers consistently. You will develop the content plan and consult with management for feedback and approval, while managing the agreed work independently.

What you will do

• Develop a monthly content plan for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
• Visit the resort regularly to photograph and film original content.
• Create and edit engaging Reels, TikTok videos, Stories, and photo posts.
• Write compelling English captions that reflect our brand.
• Schedule and publish content consistently across all three platforms.
• Respond to comments and messages, referring booking enquiries to our reservations team.
• Capture resort experiences, dining, wellness, activities, and selected events.
• Monitor performance and provide a brief monthly report with results and recommendations.
• Coordinate content shoots with our team and respect guests’ privacy and consent.

Our style is polished, creative lifestyle storytelling. We want content that conveys the atmosphere and experience of Tulia, with quality taking priority over volume.

What you bring

• A strong portfolio of your own photography, video, and social media work.
• Practical experience managing Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
• Strong filming, photography, and editing skills, with your own equipment and editing tools.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• An understanding of platform trends, audience engagement, and performance analytics.
• The ability to represent a luxury hospitality brand.
• Reliability, organisation, and the confidence to work independently.
• Residence in Zanzibar and the ability to travel regularly to Pongwe.

Experience with hotels, travel, or lifestyle brands is an advantage. Experience with paid social media campaigns is welcome but not essential.

How the collaboration will work

This is an external freelance collaboration, with flexibility to organise your own schedule around agreed content shoots, deadlines, and publishing requirements.

We will agree on a clear monthly scope of work, including the number of on-site visits, content deliverables, posting frequency, and community management responsibilities.

A fixed monthly fee will be agreed individually, based on your experience, portfolio, and the agreed scope of work.

Accommodation, visa arrangements, and flights are not included. This opportunity is intended for someone already based in Zanzibar.
